It’s always tragic when a loved one dies, particularly someone who is close to the children of the family and helps raise them and watches them grow up. It’s doubly sad when such a passing occurs right before Christmas, a time of great family warmth and togetherness.
The family of President-Elect Donald Trump was recently hit with such a death, and the news struck a particularly harsh blow for Trump’s children Donald, Jr., Ivana and Eric.
According to reports, the Trump children’s nanny Milka Milisavljevic recently passed away in her native Serbia after a brief illness. She was 85 years old at the time of her death, and she helped raise Trump’s children over a period of eight years.
She immigrated to the United States in the 1970’s, and Donald Trump took a chance of her as his nanny. It was the first job she was offered. She took her job as the children’s nanny that she even carried a gun with her everywhere to protect the children on the gritty streets of New York.
She had effusive praise for Trump, according to the Daily Mail, which reported, “Milisavljevic said [Trump] was very generous and gave her $100 a day, in addition to $1,000 for her birthday each year.” Ivana had great respect for Milka, saying that she was “hard-working, responsible, patient and with a genuine love of our children. She is a good disciplinarian and is a firm believer (as we are) of outdoor activities and exercise.” Will you pray for the Trump children during their time of loss?
